BUG Reports
- Extensions-Manage-Discover adds back an entry into the #__extensions table WHEN it finds it in the "plugins" folder.
- The Hathor uninstall is not perfect - it leaves this file behind: ..\plugins\installer\webinstaller\tmpl\hathor.php, and a message in #__postinstall_messages.
- Simplepie seems still remains a manual problem.
Introduction - Early sites at J 3.10.2
One gets to the stage when having used all of Joomla's built in cleaning, discovering, and deleting tools one has to resort to doing two more other things, viz:
- Inspecting the tables in the database using something like phpMyAdmin
- Inspecting the files using File Manager
However BEFORE doing anything, one must NOT play around with a live site until what you are going to do has been validated as being safe on a test site. Thus the words Back Back Backup come to mind.
And a Backup MUST be validated - and the only way to do that is to restore it. And when one is handling many different backups a naming strategy is required. Akeeba Backup [which is highly recommended] provides many options to enable this.
What follows is a list of the manual mods that I have made on some of my sites. On two others I was not as methodical, and on one which was getting "thinned down" from 30 long pages to just 5 short ones I started afresh. It was a rewrite in any event.
Note these sites are all awaiting upgrades of key extensions from Regular Labs, and Mavik Thumbs.
Note that no attempt has been made to tidy up the sql updates in ..\administrator\components\com_admin\sql\.. etc, which are typically 388 Files in 6 Folders. This is because the J4 upgrade removes them anyway !

Site DV [Livel THEN Local] Started June 2019
As I had both a 3.10.1 site [local] and and a 3.10.2 site [live], I examined the 3.10.1 site, and then did two things:
- Updated - JCE and Sigplus. Sigplus have been problems with the Joomla update mechanism - now seems fixed.
- Uninstalled Hathor template - a nearly clean uninstall
Backed up and restored the newly cleaned live 3.10.2 site.
